The Founder

From Finance to the Nail Industry

Before entering the nail industry, Margarita worked in finance. She began doing nails for family, then moved into professional training with educators from different countries. Her early work focused on e-file preparation, gel application, shaping, and understanding how different products behave on the natural nail.

After moving to New York, Margarita continued working with clients and developing her technique. Later, she opened Mars Nails in Manhattan's Financial District

Mars Nails is a private Russian manicure & Pedicure studio with focus on precise nail preparation, shaping, application, and final finishing.

Competition Background

Margarita has received multiple awards at Nailympia in technical and editorial categories. Her competition work has been presented in San Antonio, Anaheim, Orlando, and Germany. She also serves as an international Nailympia judge.

In competition, small details matter. Judges look closely at shape, symmetry, product placement, and finish. The same things matter in salon work too, even when the service itself looks simple.

The goal is straightforward: the nails should look clean, feel comfortable, and grow out well.

The Studio Approach

Technique First, Product Second

The service begins with the natural nail. Its length, shape, flexibility, growth direction, and condition are checked before the product is selected.

The cuticle area is prepared with a dry e-file technique. Gel, builder gel, or hard gel is then applied according to the amount of support the nail requires. Flexible or longer nails may need more structure, while shorter and stronger nails may only need a thin layer.

The product should give the nail support without making it look bulky. The result should have a clean cuticle area, an even shape, and a grow-out that stays neat.

Services are performed with sterilized tools and single-use files. Nail professionals can also study Margarita's methods through Mars Nails School.

Each appointment includes time for product removal, inspection of the natural nail, e-file preparation, shape correction, application, and finishing. The schedule is not built around high-volume walk-in service.
